We had a wonderful vacation in Maine. We spent lots of time with family and friends. We went to Northern Maine, saw Mt. Katadin, enjoyed the Clam Festival parade, saw Great Grampy, played in Kennebunk and just generally buzzed around. Nate liked looking in the frog pond at Sitou's and once he got over being sick, tired and crabby, he really had lots of fun. Enjoy the pictures from the trip!

18 Months Old
Nate is 18 months old today. I can hardly believe it... 1.5 years have already passed. Look how much he has grown compared to July 10, 2006 (one year ago today). He is doing well and just had his 18 month check-up yesterday. The vital stats follow:
Height: 33 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 24 lbs 13.25 ounces (about the 40th percentile)
Head circ: 19.75 inches (just under 90th percentile)
He grew nearly 2 inches in three months. Dr. said all looks good and that he is on track developmentally. His recent ear infections have cleared, so hopefully he will be a happy camper on the plane to Maine tonight. I am a little nervous about flying since Nate doesn't sit still. Hopefully there is an understanding soul sitting next to us.

Great Falls on the 4th of July
Happy 4th! We finally made it to Great Falls National Park today after weeks of procrastinating. On the way, we heard some great news... please join us in welcoming Shane Parker Howie into the world! I think we already know what we're doing for the fourth next year ;)
The park was super cool and made us wonder why it took so long to discover since it's about 15 miles from our house. Nate enjoyed walking the trails and watching the water flow with Mom and Dad.
What's next for Nate??? Well, he and Mommy leave on Tuesday for a 3 week trip to Maine! Pictures from Maine coming soon...

Back from the Beach
We had a wonderful trip to the beach. Nate loved the sand and getting dirty. He was a bit scared of the ocean, but loved watching it from his mommy's arms. When he felt daring he waded in the waves. He also has been gaining more and more words and is becoming better at being able to mimic words. Nate also had lots of fun with his aunties Becca and Kristin and most of all loved playing with Emma. Nate and Emma also began to learn how to share.
