Sleepy

While I haven't really been doing much baby sign language with Nate, we have done a little bit. We have been practicing the sign for "sleepy." It involves putting your two hands up next to your cheek like a pillow. Nate is getting good at this one, and told me this afternoon when we got home that he was sleepy using his sign. I put him down for a late afternoon nap, as seen in the picture today.

Mr. Walkabout

Nate is getting more used to walking every day. We've attempted to add a video below, hopefully it works!!!

Walking!

While Nate had taken a few steps here and there during the past 3 weeks, we can definitely say that he is walking now! He can walk all around the house with plops down here and there. He is a little walking machine.

Snow Day!

I woke up to a nice surprise this morning! No school! It snowed about 2 inches yesterday and due to icey conditions (and living in Virginia), they cancelled school. So, Nate and I get to stay home and play together today. He just went down for a nap (fingers crossed). He is excited to be home!

12 month check-up

Nate had his 12-month check-up on Tuesday night. Dr. said that he was doing great (with the exception of the double ear infection that we didn't know about)! Here are the vital stats:

Weight: 22lb 8 oz. (50th percentile)
Height: 29.75 inches (50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 19 inches (95th percentile - lots of brains in there!)

First Haircut

Along with Nate's first birthday, came his first haircut. He did a great job. He looks like such a little boy with his new "do." I miss the little curls a bit, but they will grow back.

Party Time!

We had a 1st birthday party for Nate on Saturday. It was lots of fun. Many friends came over just to celebrate with Nate. He had a great time playing with some of his little friends. He was a little bit intimidated at cake time and wanted nothing to do with it. Oh well! To top off the day, the Saints pulled out a victory, making Daddy very happy.

Happy First Birthday Nathaniel!!!!

Our little baby boy is 1 year old. It is hard to believe. At this time 365 days ago, Nate was 1 hour old. How things change so fast. Nate says thank you to everyone out there for their birthday gifts and wishes!

Photo shoot

Tonight we had one of our mommy and son photo shoots that I end up doing when I am bored. Nate really needs a haircut. I think that will be on our schedule this weekend, since he will be one! Nate has taken a few more steps. He took a couple at his friend Audrey's first birthday party and a couple more at daycare today. I give him 2-3 more weeks before he is sure footed!

Happy New Year!

It is 2007! Almost 1 year since Nate was born. He has grown so much in this past year.

We put in some new floors to start off 2007. Nate doesn't seem to notice the difference, but you all might, so check out us playing on the new floors.

Wishing everyone all the best in 2007. It will be hard to top 2006 for us. It was a great year!
