Nate's Favorite Things

Well, we all had a very Merry Christmas, especially Nate. He was lucky enough to spend it with all of his grandparents. He got lots of goodies and $$ for his college fund! Lucky boy! He thanks everyone lots. I think his absolute favorite thing he got for Christmas (besides being with everyone he loves!) was his "house." Nate's cousin's Ashley and Hannah gave it to him, and it is really cool. It entertains him for minutes at a time.

Nathaniel is almost walking too. He took a few hesitant steps on the 27th and practiced walking around the house with his grandparents. I give him two more weeks until he is off and running. Hope everyone out there had a happy holiday!

Christmas Eve

Nate had his first Christmas eve tonight! He ate dinner with us, but again didn't really like the turkey. He wore his special Christmas pajamas, had fun looking at the Christmas tree, and he opened a couple of presents. He is sleeping now, dreaming of Santa's arrival.

Baptism

Nate was baptized last night. He was a little cranky and tired during the mass, but he did great during the actual baptism. He was so tired by the time we got home that he feel asleep and didn't even wake up for his party! The whole family was there to see the event and the Howie's were great Godparent's.

Nate and Santa

Here is a picture of Nate and Santa from this past weekend. At least Nate isn't as chubby as Santa! He didn't cry, but he wasn't sure what to make of Santa. Hopefully after Christmas, he will like Santa more. He did like Mrs. Claus though.

Busy Little Boy

Boy are we all tired! We had a very busy weekend. We decorated the tree on Friday night, went shopping on Saturday, over to a friends' house on Saturday night, watched football and went to the grocery store today. Les and I are beat, but Nate seems to be the Energizer Bunny... he keeps going and going... He finally crashed tonight and is out for the count.

Happy 60th Birthday Grampy!

We wish we were there to celebrate with Grampy today on his special 60th birthday! We were thinking of you!

11 Months Old

Here is Nate's 11-month picture in "the chair." I thought today was the 10th, but it really was the 11th, so technically Nate is 11 months 1 day old. I put his 8-month chair shot up (my little Tom Brady) to compare. He has grown so much in just three months. It is amazing how much he has changed. Also, I am hoping that it might bring the Pats a little luck, as they really stunk in yesterday's game!

Poor little guy had to come home from school sick today. He has had a cold for 2-plus weeks, and the daycare thought he was developing pink eye. I took him into the doctor, and they put him on antibiotics for the first time. Hopefully they knock out whatever has been getting him! I hate seeing him sick. Despite being a bit under the weather, Nate is still in good spirits.

Busy Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. We went to get Nate's first Christmas tree on Friday night. It was cold, but Nate didn't seem to mind! We did a little Christmas shopping on Saturday, while Dad painted the guest room. It looks great! We did a lot of chores around the house all weekend long. Nate also met his friend Ethan for the first time today too! Five-week-old Ethan was so little compared to Nate. I can't believe how fast he is growing. Check out some of the pictures from the last few days. Enjoy!

Playtime

Nate loves to play all the time. At dinnertime he has started sharing his food with Barkley, and he really gets a kick out of it. He cracks himself up! He also likes to go after Barkley's toys (payback I guess) and loves to roll around on the floor. I think he is going to be mischevious.

Teething

Nate had a pretty cranky weekend due to some teeth trying to poke through. He also managed to stay up passed his bedtime a couple times. We went to our friends for dinner on Thursday night and Nate wanted to stay up for the fun. Same thing happened on Saturday night. He had the chance to hang out with his old buddies from the summer and didn't want to go to bed. He was having too good of a time. I think it caught up with him today because he crashed for four hours this afternoon! He is so busy all the time. It is hilarious trying to keep up with him. Check out some of the pictures from the weekend, especially the one of Nate, Audry, and Patrick playing in Evie's house!

Friends???

Are Nate and Barkley finally becoming friends? Most of the time it is doubtful, but check out this picture... every once in awhile they play! Also, Nate went up the stairs again tonight. I think he might be a mountain climber.

Watch Out! Stairs!

Nate loves to play chase. He wants us to chase him around the house, and he can crawl at turbo speed. It is really funny. He likes to be caught. Also, he climbed the stairs today (with a little help)! Watch out!

Thanksgiving in Santee, SC

We spent the past few days in Santee, SC visiting Grandma and Grandpa Currier. We had a lot of fun! Nate's first Thanksgiving was extra special. He really enjoyed the mashed potatos, but wasn't a big fan of turkey for some strange reason. Nate also went golfing with us on Friday. He was a great golf companion. He really liked riding in the golf cart and being passed from person-to-person as we all took our shots. I wish he could've given me some tips though. I surely needed them. Check out the pictures from our weekend away. I think Nate has learned to carry around balls from Barkley. It is really too funny!

Piano Player?

Will Nate be like his mom, his Grampy Babb, his Uncle Adam and his Great-Grammie Babb and be a piano player? It is looking that way considering his love for banging on the ivories! He is just tall enough to reach the keys on his own, and he really loves to sit on your lap and "king kong" the keyboard.

Nate is getting into everything these days. Forget sitting still because he is on the move constantly. It is pretty funny to see the things he goes for, like the dog's bone, crawling under tables, golf balls, and heating vents are just some examples. He is keeping us on our toes.

Peek-a-Boo!

Nate has figured out how to play peek-a-boo and just loves it. It is part of our morning routine now. When I put him in the carseat to bring him to daycare he plays peek-a-boo with the blanket I have in the car. It is so cute. He doesn't really get tired of the game. Just like he never gets tired of reading Tails. Check out the pictures of him playing pee-a-boo and reading Tails. Too cute!

Nate and Sam

Nate's friend Sammy came over to watch football yesterday. He brought some cool toys to play with. Nate really liked the big ball the lit up and played music. Too bad both the Pats and the Saints lost. Nate wore his No. 12 jersey that Ester and Roger gave him, but it didn't bring Brady any luck. What is going on! Anyways, Nate and Sammy had fun together. Nate was showing off for his younger friend by staying up and not taking an afternoon nap!

Nate still loves his bathtime. It is definitely a two-man job though to bath him. He thinks it is fun to stand up in the tub. Check out the photo of Nate post-bath. He is pretty darn cute if I do say so myself.

10 Months Old

Every month, I take a picture of Nate in our big leather chair. A friend of mine told me about this idea, and I thought it was pretty cool. It gives you a sense of how much the baby grows each month. So, here is Nate's 10 month picture in our big chair and his 4 month picture in the chair so you can see how much he has grown. It is getting harder to catch him in the chair, as he is always wanting to climb out of it.

We went to Barnes and Noble today because my school was having a book fair there. I thought I would get Nate a couple new stories since some of the proceeds will go to Little River. We got Good Night Moon, Where the Wild Things Are and a couple others. Nate is napping right now, so once he gets up we will read them all and see which one he likes best. I don't know if any of them will compare to Tails!

Messy dinner

Nate loves turkey meatballs! He had a meatball with some pasta - a dinner staple at the Currier household. He enjoyed himself and got very messy. I had to strip him down to his diaper. He is also getting the hang of the sippy cup a little better too.

Les' Reggie Bush jersey came. He made Nate pose for a picture with it. Check it out. It made me quite mad.

Poor Barkley...

Well, this time Nate can't be to blame for keeping us up at night. He slept like a baby, no pun intended... Barkley on the otherhand was throwing up all night long - I will spare all the graphic details. Poor little guy was so sick and had to spend the day today at the vet's. He handled it well. He dealt with poking, prodding, x-rays, medicine, etc. The vet thinks he probably ate something that he shouldn't have... Poor Barkley. Nate was sorry Barkley was feeling bad.

It was PJ day at "school" today for Nate. So he got to be comfy all day long, while we had to wear professional clothing. I was jealous. Nate looked cute. You can check him out in our latest family portrait. Nate is reading his favorite book Tails in the picture. Barkley is feeling better and posed for the picture with us.

Taking a Stroll

As the warmish days start getting cooler, we decided we should take advantage of getting outside. So we took Nate and Barkley out for a stroll tonight. Nate is wearing his new hat. He loves to stroll, so hopefully it doesn't get too cold too fast!

Barkley is paying a bit more attention to Nate lately. Check out the picture of him looking on as Les and Nate play together. Hopefully one day they will be best buds. Barkley is still wary though.

Errands

Today we spend most of the morning running errands. As mundane as it sounds, it is actually pretty enjoyable taking Nate around town to do different things. Let's see, we started off at Petco to get Barkley some much needed food, and Nate got to see lots of dogs waiting to be adopted. Then we checked out a hardwood flooring store, got some lunch, and went to Lowe's. We had a lazy afternoon lounging around on the floor and having one of our weekly photo shoots. Nathaniel must be the most photographed child. It is so much fun to take pictures of him though. Enjoy some of the latest! I just love the one with Nate peering out the window with his mouth wide open.

Nate is in bed now. He is getting his rest so that he can stay up late tomorrow night to cheer the Pats on in a hopeful victory against the Colts. Go Pats!

Sleepy Boy

Today was a busy day... I picked Nate up from "school," and he only napped in the morning. He was very tired, and I just laid him down to sleep (at 6:30!). I don't think he is quite used to the time change yet. He did make sure to eat before he went to bed though... he is quite the little piggy. He had wheat pilaf, mac and cheese, and apple for dinner. Just checked on him; he is out and having sweet dreams. What a sweet boy.

Weekend with Sittu

Sittu came over this past weekend. We got a nice night away while we attended a wedding, and Sittu stayed with Nate. I hear he behaved himself! We also went to the pumpkin patch and had fun with the pumpkins. Nate got a toy dinosaur and later his own personal cell phone from Babies R Us, courtesy of Sittu. I think he enjoyed his visit. He definately enjoyed some home cooking by Sittu!
