Summer Vacation

We have been enjoying summer vacation so far. We spent two weeks in Maine seeing everyone. The first week rained, as that is pretty much the status quo up there this summer. However, the second week brought some nice weather and with it some beach trips, boat rides, and fun in the sun. Charlie finally figured out the crawling thing when we were on vacation, and he is now cruising around the house also. His preferred method of rolling is not seen much anymore, but he does seem to like to cruise rather than crawl. Nate is becoming a pretty good little swimmer and loves the pool. He is gearing up for pre-school in a couple weeks!

Charlie Turned One!

I can hardly believe a whole year has passed. Charlie is a hoot. He is a very determined boy. Forget trying to get him to do things he doesn't want to do (give up a toy, change a diaper, crawl (0: ). He has such a great little personality that is growing by the day. Even though he isn't crawling yet (still!), he is getting around like crazy via rolls and scoots, and Les found him standing up in his crib today at naptime. I have a feeling he will skip the formal crawling and just start walking one day! I will post some 12-month shots as soon as I have them uploaded, though I can't promise that that will be soon (0;

Nate is doing great as well. He is so much fun to take on adventures and is such a sweet boy. Check out some of our recent adventures.

I managed to get a couple nice black and white shots...

10 Months Old

Getting a good shot is so hard! Charlie is always moving and then trying to get the two boys together in a good picture is nearly impossible. Here are a few ten-month shots of Charlie. He is still rolling around like crazy. I don't think he is ever going to crawl. He does get up on all fours every once in a great while, but he seems content to just roll. He can go at quite a good clip. Charlie also is eating everything in sight. He LOVES to eat and gets very mad when he isn't fed fast enough. He makes sound effects to show his delight in his favorite cuisines.

Snow!

We actually got a little bit of snow down here! It was cold, but Nate and I went out to play for a little bit while Les shoveled the driveway. Nate made a snow angel, and we tried to make a small snowman, but it wasn't the sticky kind of snow.

Month 8 and Month 9

So I missed posting Charlie's 8-month shot (I did take it however!). Month 8 and Month 9 shots are posted now. Charlie has continued to be a happy baby. His sleeping is getting slightly better, though he still is up nightly. As tired as I am from 9 months of getting up at night, the nightly visits are so sweet. I can't believe he is nearing the year mark. Charlie has managed to sprout two top teeth and three (working on four) bottom teeth. Crawling has yet to happen, but Charlie definitely has a mode of transportation. We call him our little hot dog because he rolls himself to whatever he wants. I don't think crawling is that far off, but we will see...

Nate's Theory on Getting Sick

Nate has had a cold for about a week. He is getting over it now, but he came up with a funny theory on how he got sick. According to Nate, he climbed up a tree and ate some yucky honey. The yucky honey is in his belly and made him sick. After trying to analyze this, I think the yucky honey might be his mucus. His story tickled me.
